I'm keeping my Christmas Show schedule a bit more manageable this year, rather than the usual traipsing all over the country! First up is the Westonbirt Charity Fair on 23rd and 24th October. Proceeds go towards seven very deserving charities, including Marie Curie, a local Hospice and Gloucester's Intensive Care Unit. You can find out more details including booking tickets here.
Not only has this autumn stormy wind given me lots of easy access photo props, it's even brought badgers into my Herefordshire garden to enjoy an easy snack! I was so excited to see this on my wildlife camera. Browse all new products here.
I've been tinkering with this project on and off for the last few months, as much for my own enjoyment as anything, working on each tiny illustration using my usual method of pen and ink using my hand carved bamboo pens. From Anteater to Zebra via Hammerhead Shark, Narwhal, Flamingo and Sloth! Reproduced on luxurious archival watercolour paper, this art print will hopefully stir up imagination and curiosity, help learning and be a thoughtful finishing touch to a little ones nursery. Find your own here.
It's my pleasure to be involved with an auction of art pieces and promises for St Michael's Hospice.
More than 20 lots, featuring a cross-section of mediums, will go on sale at the Trumpet Corner Tea Room and Art Gallery near Ledbury on Friday 13th July at 7.30pm. I'm donating an extra large Inky Mallard framed print and also a bamboo pen workshop for 6 people. The evening will be led by the BBC's Kate Bliss, an antiques expert on hit shows Bargain Hunt and Flog It! so come along to raise money for a wonderful cause and take home a piece you love. Find out more info by clicking here, hope to see you there! The Festival of Nature is the UK's biggest free celebration of the natural world, and I'm taking part in the Bristol Festival 9th - 10th June 2018. It's completely free, full of amazing workshops, interactive activities and a nature focused art market, which is where I'm turning up! The Festival is a platform for people of all ages and backgrounds to see the places that we call home in a different way, and to better understand how nature impacts our lives, health and wellbeing. It's open on Bristol's waterfront on Saturday 10-6, and Sunday 10-5, and I'd love to see you there! Click the photo for more info. My next live event is a Design Led Lifestyle event hosted in the beautiful tourist town of Stratford Upon Avon. The event runs on 7th July in the Town Hall 10-4, click the photo for more info. My final (so far!) event of the summer that I'm turning up in is an exhibition at The Old Mayor's Parlour on Hereford's historic Church Street. The exhibition runs from 9th June until 9th August and is open every Tuesday to Saturday, 9.30-5.
Kate Moby will be exhibiting at the Spring Homes and Gardens Fair, held in the grounds of Sudeley Castle 19th to 22nd April. It's my pleasure to be able to get you valued readers of my news free tickets. All you have to do is visit the link for tickets here and type in the word exhibitor (not case sensitive) into the promo code box on the Buy Tickets page and they will be posted
to you free of charge. If you order within 7 days of the Fair, tickets will be left on the door for you to collect. Hope to see you there, do come and say hi if you do make it, I'll be on stand 78 near the entrance to the cafe (unsurprisingly!) I'm taking part in Joanne Hawker's March Meet The Maker challenge this month - follow @katemoby on Instagram if you'd like to see exclusive behind the scenes goings on/how I got to here/my face because I had to.
It is my honour to turn up in the most soothing magazine (more of a bookazine - it's so sumptuous!) that I have ever read. Here's just a tiny taster, but it includes crafts projects and stickers, pieces about nature and life, and lots of lovely inspo. Fairly obviously from my chosen illustrative subject matter, I quite like animals and nature. For Christmas, my husband bought me a wildlife camera to capture what secret visitors we had to the garden, and I was so excited to find a video of an otter last night! I might just have to draw an Inky Otter... |
