I made this for reference, feel free to pass it on/print it off/share the love! I hope it's useful to you :)
I don't know about you, but one of my favourite things about designing is seeing it transform form an idea or a sketch in to real life. It's not always a possibility to see the end result however, so I've trawled the web for impressive free templates to mock up design ideas into reality. It can also be a really useful tool to help Clients visualise what you are designing. Enjoy! Click on the image for the download page. PS Please note I haven't used them all myself yet so you're not allowed to be sad with me if some don't work well. (But please do let me know.)
I enjoyed working with a lovely group of ladies on Saturday, teaching my simple screen printing method, and was very impressed with their beautiful results! Seems as though they enjoyed it too.
For more information on latest workshops, please get in touch. The next Simple Screen Printing workshop will be on the 26th October, at The Banyan Tree in Brackley, Northants, and amazingly there are only a couple of places left! If you'd like to get involved, just drop me a message!
Another lovely afternoon of teaching screen printing the simple way yesterday... Here are the results the lovely ladies came up with! The image in the bottom right corner was kindly sent through from one of the ladies. She was so inspired that she went out and bought the bits and pieces needed for printing, and added text, a sun and buttons to her design of the leaping deer. I think it looks cracking! And it's so lovely to see people enjoying and using what I have taught them! Ace all round. I suspect another workshop will be in the diary soon... Get in touch if you want to know more!
I've just come back after a week of rural enforced radio silence in beautiful Springtime Cornwall. Part of the reason for the trip was to teach a Food Photography Workshop for The Hedgecombers, which was great fun. The rest of the time was spent soaking up the sun, beach bbqs of steak and roast veg, surfing, visiting a captive rainforest (less mosquitos than the Amazon - win!) and generally unwinding. Oh and a touch of sunburn. I know I'm sufficiently pasty, no pun intended, to singe in April, yet it takes me by surprise every year.
The Hedgecombers had this to say about it: Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! SO much for yesterday! It was just what I needed, and I feel so much more in control of my camera and pictures now. Your teaching style is awesome, and you clearly know & understand your subject perfectly, as you can put it across in real simple terms. Thanks again Kate xx If you have any workshop requirements, drop me a line - I love a one-to-one learning sesh! It's been a great pleasure lately helping several new creative business get off the ground lately. One thing I often get asked, is the "right" way to price products. Obviously there are variations according to your specific requirements/product/service, but I put this together as a handy "rule of thumb." Hope it helps!
I'm super pleased to announce two new marvellous creative workshops that I'll be running in a lovely little craft premises in Brackley, Northhamptonshire.
The Photography and Photoshop course is frankly a bargain at £100 - the only other similar one I found online to mine was triple the price. Space is limited to 5 people, first come first served. The full dates are : Weds 6th March 7pm-9pm Weds 13th March 7pm-9pm Weds 20th March 7pm-9pm Weds 27th March 7pm-9pm The Screen Printing workshop is at the same premises and is £45 for Saturday 16th March 1.30pm - 4.30pm. You'll head home with a tote bag or two with your own design printed on, and the knowledge of how to do it again using simple equipment found in your house! Limited to 4 people. Any further info required, please just holler! Now drum roll for the posters... A wee while ago, I wrote a screen print tutorial and a fabric label how-to to help out fellow crafters. In a brazen attempt for people to find me on the big wide world of the internet, I've created some "pinterest" style versions, pared down to be as simple as possible. Repin away!
