I was contacted to create a bespoke framed print, incorporating flying birds and the comforting words of Matthew's Gospel: "Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" Below are different colour, format and font options I sent through for her to choose from. A lovely idea I thought, some of you might get the same thing for Christmas...

It was my pleasure to create a bespoke set of wedding place settings fitting with the lovely bride's colour scheme of sage green. She wanted perched birds to sit prettily on wine glasses. Much scissor action later... If you have any bespoke wedding needs I'd love to hear from you! I'm also thinking of packaging some sets up and testing the waters on eBay, any thoughts..?
I was asked to conjure up a leaflet design to help teenagers concentrate during weekly presentations. It had be be "cool" and obviously easily editable if it was going to be a weekly task. I thought the best way was to make it a massive doodle, with spaces for them to doodle too... It's still being tweaked - I think it may need a crossword!
Following my brochure work earlier in the year (scroll down!) I was approached to create another series of architectural illustrations for a commercial property undergoing a complete overhaul, so that the development company could attract new tenants before the work was completed. As a happy coincidence, I had also drawn the architectural plans for the property whilst working through my Uni summers, so knew the old girl quite well already! A slightly distorted Streetview image of before work began... With a spot of imagination... I'll aim to add an "after" image once work has finished.
I thought I’d get to know my new area better by driving around looking for lovely things to take pictures of for Four Shires Magazine, as they asked so nicely.
Your portfolio is very diverse and the shots are exceptionally eye catching. You are most certainly talented. Blushing, I discovered furrowed farm land, Oxford Botanical Gardens, punts on the River Thames, fallen trees in hidden woodland and some lovely countryside… So can you in the March 2011 edition. A lovely lady called Mrs Homden approached me to design a logo for her life coaching business called Watch Yourself Grow. She had quite definite ideas, which eventually led to what you see below. Here are my workings out (I was a geek at school too.)
I was fortunate to be asked to redesign a company Christmas newsletter for Meadow Quality Ltd. Their colours are blue and gold... Imagine a piece of A3 folded in half and double sided, and you may be able to picture what my design looked like! I couldn't resist adding some snowflakes that I rustled up in Illustrator. An improvement on the “in house” solution..?
A lovely lady saw some of my work in the aforementioned craft fair, and wanted to see some more photos of reds and browns in my portfolio for her to buy for her daughters redecorated room. I duly obliged.
Another lovely lady at the aforementioned art fair spied my illustrations of mice, moles and other small furry creatures and said if I were to turn them into greetings cards, she would sell them in her lovely shop Hus and Hem in Ledbury, A Smörgåsbord of Scandinavian Design! Was most chuffed, and I always do what I'm told, so please visit these lovely people and spend lots of money in their shop!!
I joined in with the annual Ledbury craft market as a start to the "life post uni requires earning" idea... Didn't do too shabbily, and nothing blew away! Plus, gained a cheeky greetings card commission!
