Someone spotted my inky animal friends on my Facebook post about my recent greetings card success and wished they could be phone covers... I hate to disappoint! Ta da!
Although generally speaking, I'm fairly handy at the ole Photoshop, I've finally conquered my fear of the Pen Tool! Slow to the game no doubt, but it's opened up a whole world of curvy goodness! To celebrate, I turned some of my birds in Custom Shapes and plonked them on Etsy to spread the love.
So far my Facebook business page has been a real encouragement and worth putting myself out there. (Those "likes" are addictive.) I wanted to create a way of quickly showing newcomers what I'm all about, hence this header... What do you think? I think it demonstrates that I like blue very well. Ah blue.
A new children's shop came to me for a logo for their flourishing company. They wanted "it to stand out, a Katemoby origin-nally!" I happily obliged, with the usual process of creating a range of ideas, and then homing in on the favourite. It was great to have some graphics to get stuck into! Homing in on the best solution... And the final... Drumroll please!
When I was learning to dive in an African lake the best part of a decade ago, we always made sure we had a "buddy" with us - a fellow diver. If we ever lost our buddy, you have to signal, "I've lost my buddy" even if you can only see fish. Most likely because they were above your head and they could then see you were a little worried about their absence! In many ways, I'm finding being freelance is a little like that - you signal to everyone you can about what you do, even if only the fish can see you! You never know who might hear you and be interested. So this week, I've been telling shops, magazines, studios, the internet, anyone who will listen, just in case they'd been looking for someone who can do what I do. It's so basic, but I've only just realised that being freelance is like being on a constant job hunt... So if it is me you're looking for, hi! I've tried to put some things up to help being found, and would love to hear if you've found me through them! Feel free to like, link, pin or whatever! EtsySociety6Oh and I can't really fathom twitter, is it a necessary evil, or am I missing out big style?
First special offer of the year! Free shipping on all my iPhone cases etc stocked by Society 6.
Follow the link for the special promo code, which expires 13th Jan. http://society6.com/KateMoby?promo=14bb5a Enjoy :) Just got through the final market of the year (out of a grand total of two!) It was a lovely place and lovely people, but being outside for two days took its toll on my extremities! Saturday was very quiet, but Sunday picked up nicely. I met some other lovely stallholders, but am now kicking myself for not robbing some business cards, as I'd like to keep in touch... If you happen to be reading this, please drop me a message! One of my favourite moments of the day - a 10 year old boy trying out my bamboo dip pens wrote "Even in death may you be triumphant." That'd be Oxford for you! Forgive the low phone quality pics, my camera has gone travelling (with friends, it hasn't been stolen!) Merry Christmas!
I enjoyed putting together a leaflet for these lovely people with illustration and photography to advertise their charity shop and coffee shop in Hereford City. Check it out here. Hopefully it'll help them generate some much deserved customers to raise money for the anti-trafficking charity The Freedom Project. If you look closely you'll notice it matches a poster I put together earlier in the year. Oh and they're always looking for new donations, so if you get some things for Christmas that really aren't your cup of tea, here's a great place to pass them on, guilt free!
