After seeking much opinion on social media, I decided to accept the invitation to stock work on notonthehighstreet.com. So far so good, I've already bagged one order! Yay :) Only a handful of products on there at the mo, but I'll be adding more soon.

Bunting and birds on a postcard were requested for a country garden themed Save The Date. I do aim to please...
The main thing I've learnt from this commission is that there are better ways to refer to a Save The Date than an STD... I don't advise that. A lovely couple getting married in a South African Elephant Park (AMAZING!) asked me to design some vintage luggage tag style Save The Dates for their big day.
But of course! One of my sweetest jobs to date. A thoughtful chap asked me to illustrate and hand write the poem that he proposed with as a present for their first wedding anniversary (which is paper after all.) Congratulations, I hope she loved it! Ideas... Finished and framed.
I've done a fair amount of work for Hope City Hereford (see a few examples here, and here.) When they needed a poster advertising their new drop in centre The Lighthouse, for the homeless and those struggling with addictions, providing food and a listening ear, it was my pleasure to oblige. And the chosen final image... Printed by the wonderful people of ABC Print - I really do recommend them!
A lovely lady got in touch via my Facebook page requesting a logo design. It turned out what was actually going to be useful was a new header image for her fab blog Tales From The Village, incorporating roller skates, a pile of books, a cupcake, a plant, wool and "well, something like that." She wanted a scribbly feel and a simple white background... Rolling up my sleeves, first of all I tackled the layout. Once the layout was OK'd, I worked on the ink drawings, and levels of "scribblyness" with different typefaces. And the final in situ! Check it out.
It's always nice to see the fruit of how people use my commercial photography services. Check out the lovely namecheck at the bottom of the board!
Special offer at the mo, half price shoots! Quote this blog post when enquiring, and for the whole of March and April, I will give you 50% off my usual commercial photographic prices (which are most reasonable to begin with!) Whether you are just getting started as a business, or need to freshen up websites and marketing material, nothing adds a little shine like some beautifully shot photographs selling your best bits! Check out my portfolio of commercial work for some ideas and inspiration! A lovely lady spotted on my Facebook page my technique of painting in acrylic and using a craft knife to carve back to the white paper beneath. She set the theme and colour and after some back and forth, I happily created it. And how I got there...
Polished off a sign writing commission yesterday.
I've done plenty of these before, but always on actual signs, so if they went wrong I could just hide them. Here the only solutions to messing up were either a huge can of Magnolia, or burning the shop down, depending on how melodramatic I was feeling... Thankfully neither was necessary as I was quite pleased how the poem came out for The Banyan Tree, Brackley. I ache today though! |
